High School Football; Cambridge, Greenwich Romp, Valley Wins Close


Cambridge 62  Granville 6:  Cambridge rolled behind a powerful ground game that racked up 316 yards with eight rushing touchdowns by seven different players.

Tommy English scored twice for the Indians as did Kaedin Ogilvie, and Helen Mooney made eight of nine extra points eclipsing 100 points for her career.  

Cambridge will next play Warrensburg in a Class D semifinal next Saturday in Schuylerville.


Greenwich 53  Helderberg Valley 0:  Carson Mosher ran for 106 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Witches to the shutout victory.

Reese Cristaldi added a pair of scores, and Chris Albrecht and Ellis Pemrick also found the end zone for the Witches who will play Hoosic Valley on Saturday in a Class D semifinal in Schuylerville.


Hoosic Valley 28  Canajoharie 20: The Indians ran out to a 14-0 halftime lead on their way to the victory over Canjo.

Will Scofield gained 188 yards with a touchdown, and Dan Giordano added 145 yards and two scores for the Valley spearheading a ground attack that ran for over 450 yards on the afternoon.

With the win the Indians even their mark at 4-4 and head to sectional play where they’ll take on Greenwich in a Class D semifinal at Schuylerville on Saturday.
