Sectional Soccer Roundup



Mechanicville 5  Voorheesville 4:  In a match that needed overtime sessions and a penalty kick round to decide things, the Red Raiders came away with the “W”, punching their ticket to the Class B Girls Section II soccer finals on Friday.

Brynn Murphy scored a hat trick and Jada Brown added a single goal to pace Mechanicville and send the Raiders to a Friday match with Schalmont at Lansingburgh.

Kaelyn Lawson scored a pair of goals to lead the Blackbirds.


Stillwater 5  Bolton-Warrensburg 0: Brooke Pickett scored a hat trick and Devon Wagner rang the bell twice, leading the Warriors to the shutout victory in Class C quarterfinal action.

Warrior keeper Kiersten Conroy earned the shutout saving five shots for Stillwater who advance to semifinal play where they’ll face the Warriors of Lake George.


Lake George 3  Hoosic Valley 0:  The Warriors used a pair of Nicole Kingsley strikes and a single score from Rachel Jaeger to get past the Indians of Hoosic Valley in a Class C quarterfinal.

Samantha Jeckel saved 7 shots to earn the shutout for Lake George, the 11th time this season the Warriors have kept an opponent off the board.


Hoosick Falls 2  Cairo Durham 0:  The Panthers Darian Morgan scored two second half goals and keeper Olivia Brownell needed just two saves for the Falls shutout victory in Class C quarterfinal play.

Hoosick Falls with the win advances to a semifinal match on Saturday in Lansingburgh where they’ll meet Schoharie in a 5:00 start.





Berlin 4  Cambridge 3:  The ninth-seeded Mountaineers continued their playoff run upending the fourth-seeded Indians in a Class C semifinal on Wednesday.

Dan Basallo, Cody Hunt, Tyler Kellar and Ryan Willis all found the back of the net for Berlin who knocked off top seeded Mayfield in the quarters, and now advances to the final against Maple Hill on Friday at 5:00 at Stillwater.

Ian Montgomery scored a pair, and Austin Hackman added a single strike for Cambridge in the match.


Lake George 1  Greenwich 0:  Paul Lindsay found Alex Jones for the only score of the contest, sending the Warriors to the Class CC finals on Friday at 7:00 in Stillwater where they’ll face Greenville.
