The Stillwater girls soccer team needed extra sessions to decide things on Saturday in their Class C state semifinal match in Homer. Tied 2-2 with Elmira-Notre Dame entering the first overtime period the Warriors found the back of the net with a pair of goals in the first overtime, on their way to a 4-2 “W” and a spot in the title game today at 12:30 where they’ll face Allegany Limestone.
Brooke Pickett led the Warrior attack with three scoring strikes, while Kate McEvoy added a single goal for the young, upstart Stillwater squad who with the win improve to 19-2 on the season, and in a few short hours will look for number 20 and a New York state championship.
