A pair of league squads were in action on Thursday night with the Greenwich boys and Stillwater girls taking the floor in non-league runs. The Warriors came away with a “W” while the Witches dropped a close decision.
Stillwater 54 North Warren 30: After a tight first period of play, the Warriors opened things over the next two quarters outscoring North Warren 29-8 on their way to the comfortable win.
Marley Mueller with 14 points and 10 rebounds led the Stillwater squad and Molly Sheehan added 10 points and eight rebounds for the 0-1, 1-1 Warriors.
Sydney Gagnon scored a game-high 18 points to lead North Warren.
Mayfield 51 Greenwich 46: Mayfield ran out to a 22-8 lead after the first eight minutes, a deficit the Witches trimmed to 36-33 heading to the final stanza where Mayfield was able to hang on and notch the home victory.
Garrett Delaney and Brendan Gifford scored 15 points each and Eric Lehr added 14 points to lead the Mayfield attack.
John Walsh with 15 points and Joe Smith with 12 paced the Greenwich squad.
