Girls Basketball; Indians, Bengals Roll

There was a full slate of action for the Wasaren girls on the Wednesday before the holiday break, with just one game decided by less than 10 points.  Tamarac and Cambridge with wins stayed unbeaten in league play while Hoosic Valley, Mechanicville and Waterford posted “W’s” as well.

Tamarac 61  Stillwater 21

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Emily Erickson 18    Renna Poulin 8     Warriors – Peacock 6

Summary:  The Bengals held Stillwater to single numbers in each quarter, led this one 36-11 at the break and cruised the victory.

 

Cambridge 57  Hoosick Falls 31

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Lily Phillips 17    Sophie Phillips 14       Helen Mooney 10    Falls – Logan Thayne 20

Summary:  Cambridge limited the Panthers to two points in each of the first two periods, taking a 37-4 lead into halftime and went on to post their sixth win in as many outings.

 

Mechanicville 61  Greenwich 50

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Charli Goverski 17     Sammy Pasinella 16     Witches – Molly Brophy 16    Devin Drew 15

Summary:  The Raiders continue to knock down shots from behind the arc with four players bottoming a pair of triples on the night.  Mechanicville held a 8-0 advantage in made threes paving the way to road win over Greenwich.

 

Hoosic Valley 32  Berlin 3

Leading Scorers:  Valley – Emaleigh Peckham 8    Ashlyn Chartier 8

Summary:  Hoosic Valley held Berlin to 1of 30 from the floor in the one-sided affair, improving their mark to 7-1 with the win.

 

Waterford 33  Saratoga Catholic 28

Leading Scorers:  Fordians – Annelise Rebel 11     Saints – Ani Crocker 10

Summary:  Waterford ran out to a 17-3 lead after the first period and used that cushion to hang on for the win over the Saints.
