A pair of boys basketball games played out for Wasaren squads Thursday night with Greenwich besting Mechanicville, and Waterford topping Heatly in a non league run.
Greenwich 49 Mechanicville 38: Ellis Pemrick poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Witches past the Red Raiders Thursday night in Mechanicville.
Greenwich trailed by four at 29-25 entering the fourth period, but used a 24-9 advantage over the final eight minutes to capture the win.
With that win the Witches improve to 2-1, 4-3 on the season.
Nick Billert and Joe Germaine netted 11 points each to lead the 1-2, 2-2 Red Raiders.
Waterford 66 Heatly 38: The Fordians jumped out to a 17-5 lead after the first, and went on to post the comfortable win over Heatly.
Joe Panetta scored 18 points including five triples to lead Waterford, while teammates Connor Houle and Robert Harris added 14 and 11 points respectively.
The victorious Fordians bottomed nine 3-pointers on the night, and with the win they go to 0-3, 1-3 on the year.
Devin Lazzaro with 18 points and Ricky Boyd with 14 led the Heatly attack.
