While the girls from Cambridge and Tamarac have led the way thus far in the Wasaren, the Red Raiders of Mechanicville are a squad that can play with anyone.  An athletic team with a number of legitimate scorers, the Raider can hurt opponents with transition buckets at the rim or knock down triples from behind the arc.

Mechanicville’s offensive prowess was on display Wednesday night in rolling over Waterford 72-30.

The Raiders jumped out to a 23-14 advantage after the first and put things away with an 18-2 second quarter taking a 41-16 lead at the break and coasted through the second half to the easy victory.

Sophomore guard Charli Goverski led all scorers on the night with 22 points, including three triples.  Senior guard Sammy Pasinella dropped 16 points with a pair of threes, and junior forward Taylor Grayson knocked back four deep balls accounting for her 12 points in the contest.

Emily Kelley led the Waterford attack with 11 points.

With the win Mechanicville improves to 5-3, 7-3 on the season and the Red Raiders are right back in action tonight with a road game at Berlin followed by a big Saturday run when they host the Indians from Cambridge.
