Tamarac and Mechanicville stepped on the floor in Averill Park Wednesday night in separate semifinal runs, one win away from the girls Class B title game. In a perfect basketball world an all Wasaren final would play out Saturday afternoon at Hudson Valley Community College.
But life isn’t Hollywood and while Tamarac punched their ticket to the championship game with a convincing 55-40 victory over Schalmont, Mechanicville’s opponent Voorheesville had other ideas pinning a 54-37 defeat on the Raiders in game one.

Key Points: Tamarac dominated play over the first three periods building a 52-27 advantage heading to the final frame and coasted home with the semifinal “W” for their 21st win in 23 outings. Senior forward Ray had a big night scoring 18 points in support of Erickson who bottomed a game-high 23 for the deep and talented Bengal squad.

Key Points: Voorheesville led 18-5 after one, finishing the first period on a 13-0 run, and held a double digit cushion the rest of the way in posting the victory over the Raiders. Mechanicville completes a fine basketball campaign with a 16-7 mark.
