Greenwich, Valley Post Baseball “W’s”


In what’s shaping up as a good race for the Wasaren baseball championship both Hoosic Valley and Greenwich find themselves right in the thick of things and both helped themselves with wins on Thursday afternoon.

Greenwich 13  Cambridge 0

Winning Pitcher:   Alex Curtis 5 inning no-hitter  5 K’s

Leading Hitters:  Witches – Cole Burgess 4-4, HR, 2 RBI’s      John Walsh 2-4, HR, 4 RBI’s

The freshman Curtis no-hits the Indians and as always Greenwich put more than enough runs on the board.


Hoosic Valley 4  Waterford 3

Winning Pitcher:  Ethan Caiazza 7 IP  0 ER  6 Hits  12 K’s

Leading Hitters: Valley – Blake Wiegert Solo HR     Ryan Matala 2B       Jacob White RBI 1B

The Valley scored four times in the bottom of the seventh highlighted by White’s game-winning RBI single, as the Indians post the walk-off “W”.



Greenwich 9  Cambridge 7

Winning Pitcher:  Lily McCauliffe

Leading Hitters:  Witches – Courtney Fraher 3-run HR     Lauren Maines 3 1B’s, 2 RBI’s     Helen Smith 1B, 2B, RBI        Indians – Victoria Dupuis 2 1B’s

Greenwich led 8-1 after three frames and then had to weather a six-run seventh by Cambridge, before securing the road victory.

Winning Pitcher:  Jess Hienrichs

Leading Hitters:  Bengals – McKenna Ryan 2-3      Gianna Bucciero 2-3      Kylie Galipeau 3-4      Alexis Dagostino 2-3           Panthers – Mackenzie Ellis 3-4      Marissa Landry 2-4      Olivia Brownell 2-4, 2B

The Bengals notch the narrow win in Hoosick Falls.
