Boys Soccer:  Greenwich 10  Hoosic Valley 1:  The Witches scored five times before and after the break in cruising to the home victory over the Valley.

Charlie Gartner connected three times while Connor Smith, Liam Niesz, Jeremy Zanella, Tom Haberland, Al Rymph, Tommy Abate and Ryan Hawrysz all added single goals for Greenwich.

Hoosic Valley avoided the shutout when James Robert tallied in the second half.

Greenwich moves to 2-0-1, 6-1-1 with the win, Hoosic Valley slips to 1-2, 2-5 with the loss.

 

Waterford 2  Stillwater 1:  The Fordians eased past Stillwater behind a pair of goals from Nate Powell.

Powell scored in each half for Waterford who moves to 2-0-1, 4-2-1 on the year.

Issac Cutler connected on a second half strike for the Warriors who go to 1-2, 4-2 on the season.

 

Mechanicville 5  Berlin/New Lebanon 0:  Andrew Krazsewski’s hat trick showed the way for the Raiders in their shutout over Berlin.

Wyqui Aguda and Tyler Tesorieio added goals for Mechanicville and keepers Zach White (5 saves), and Glen Prarie (1 save), combined for the shutout as the Raiders with the “W” move to 3-0, 4-2 on the year.

 

Girls Soccer

Cambridge 5  Hoosic Valley 0: Vanessa Evans and Lily Phillips with two goals each paced the Indians to the road victory over the Valley.

Cambridge keeper McKayla McLenithan with nine saves combined with the Indians defense for the shutout as Cambridge improves to 2-0, 2-2 with the win.

 

Emma Willard 5  Tamarac 2:  Catherine Everett scored four times in leading Emma Willard past the Bengals of Tamarac.

Sophia Champagne tallied twice for the Bengals with Shannon Ryan assisting on both goals.

 

Waterford 4  Spa Catholic 2 OT:  Waterford’s Cassidy McClement scored a pair of goals in the first overtime to seal the home “W” for the Fordians.

In a back and forth contest, Waterford held a 1-0 advantage at the break on a Sage Gannon scoring strike, but Spa Catholic used second half goals by Alexa Hercamp and Lauren Maher to take a 2-1 lead.

An own goal in the 75th minute pulled the Fordians even at 2-2, setting up McClements overtime tallies and the Waterford win.

 

Golf

Hoosick Falls 5  Mechanicville 0:  Ryan Bloomer carded the low round of 39 to lead the Panthers past the Raiders in action at the Mechanicville Golf Course on Thursday.

Mat Smith, Miles Smith, Alison Hathaway and Brady Hathaway completed the sweep, all posting match wins for the Panthers who stay perfect on the year at 12-0.

 

Greenwich 5  Stillwater:  In action at the Saratoga Lake Golf Club, the Witches Jake Owens found the course to his liking, firing the low round of 42 in the shutout victory for Greenwich.

Tyler Ziehm, Bradley Brophy, Patrick McFee and Grant Peck all won individual matches for the Witches who move to 9-2 on the year with the win.

 

Spa Catholic 3  Hoosic Valley 2:  In a close match at Saratoga State Park, the Saints earned wins in flights one, three and four to notch the victory over Hoosic Valley.

Jack Constantino, Dylan Mulholland and Cody Burky won points for the Saints with Mulholland’s round of 45 earning medalist honors.

Nolan Rafferty and Nick Marpe picked up the Indians points with wins in flights two and five.

Spa Catholic moves to 7-4 on the season with the win, while Hoosic Valley goes to 10-3 with the loss.
