With all Section II tournaments moving closer to crowning classification champions, the girls volleyball tournament will play it’s semifinal matches on Tuesday with the Bengals of Tamarac very much in the mix.
In the opening round of the Class C tournament, while #2 Tamarac received a bye, #12 Hoosic Valley and # 7 Mechanicville drew first round opponents, and both squads posted straight set”W’s” to advance, with the Valley eliminating #5 Greenville and the Raiders turning back #10 Chatham.
In the quarterfinals Hoosic Valley fell 3-2 to the Blackbirds of Voorheesville, and in an all-Wasaren match, Tamarac slipped past Mechanicville 3-2.
In a pair of semifinal matches on Tuesday, with the top four seeds having all advanced, it plays out in Gloversville with #1 Lake George vs. #4 Voorheesville at 5 p.m. and #2 Tamarac taking on #3 Fonda in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
The Class C championship match is scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. at Saratoga High School.
Hoosic Valley fell in 5 sets in a hard fought match against Voorheesville.
