Congratulations to Waterford basketball player Michael Talavera on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.

Talavera opened the season with a 34 point effort in a 105-20 victory over Heatly in the first round of the Waterford Tip-Off Tournament and poured in 27 points the next night in the Fordians 75-53 win over Salem.

This past Friday the senior guard scored 27 points including four triples, in the Fordians 64-63 win over Schoharie.
