In a game befitting a tournament championship run, the homestanding Wildcats needed overtime to secure the title over Hoosic Valley in the Maple Hill Holiday Tournament on Sunday.
As you would expect the numbers were nearly identical in many categories as both squads placed three players in doubles, the Valley connected of six 3-pointers to the Wildcats five, and the Indians made 17 of 31 from the stripe, while Maple Hill converted on 17 of 30.
Hoosic Valley trailed by 12, at 31-19 in the second frame before eventually running down the Wildcats in the fourth. Tyler Eddy hit on 1 of 2 free throws with :30 left in regulation, sending the game into the extra session where Maple Hill used a 12-3 advantage to capture the tourney championship.
With the win the Wildcats go to 7-1 on the year, while Hoosic Valley heads into January with a 4-1 mark.
