Mechanicville 8 Waterford 0: The Red Raiders capped their undefeated season with yet one more dominating performance in posting an 8-0 “W” to earn the Wasaren League championship in Mechanicville on Saturday afternoon.

Mechanicville built a 5-0 advantage by halftime and coasted to their fifteenth victory in as many outings.

Andrew Kraszewski and Colin McNutt with two goals each led the scoring assault, with TJ Bisaillon, Tom Hickey, Jordan Nolan and Tyler Tesoriero all adding single tallies for the Raiders.

Glenn Prarie saved five shots for Mechanicville who notched their 11th shutout of the season, a year in which the Raiders outscored their opponents 130-5 and notched their fourth straight Wasaren championship.

Football

Schuylerville 34 Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 15: Owen Sherman ran and passed for touchdowns, leading Schuylerville to a 34-15 victory over Hoosick Falls/Tamarac in the Section II Class C Football Championship.

Jack Dwyer and Sam McGarrahan added rushing scores for the Black Horses who finish the year with a perfect 7-0 slate.

HF/Tam scored all of their points in the final frame on a 60- yard touchdown pass from Michael Dagostino to Dylan Baker and a 75 yard kickoff return by Josh Colgrove.

Hoosick Falls /Tamarac finishes the season with an excellent 6-1 mark.

Warrensburg 16 Cambridge 7: Warrensburg claimed it’s first victory of the season, grinding out the narrow decision over Cambridge on Saturday in Stillwater.

The Burghers held a 8-0 halftime lead on a Zach Carpenter to Tanner Dunkley 26-yard scoring strike in the first quarter.

After a scoreless second frame, Cambridge opened the third with a scoring drive capped by a Doug Pennington one-yard run trimming the lead to 8-7.

Warrensburg responded with a 73 yard drive that Carpenter finished with a two-yard touchdown tote, and the Burghers defense closed the door the rest of the way to seal the win.
