Boys Soccer; Red Raiders Top Waterford

Mechanicville 12 Waterford 0: The Mechanicville defense and keeper Dylan Raucci pitched their sixth shutout of season, and the explosive Raider attack rang the bell a dozen times in the one-sided decision over the Fordians.

Ryan Grimmick and Andrew Kraszewski both connected for hat tricks, with Wyqie Aguda adding a pair of goals, and Colin McNutt, Justin Manion, Luke Miklas and Tom Egan all recording single tallies for the Raiders.

Waterford keeper Alex Roy saved 18 shots in the match, while Raucci turned back four shots in the Raiders shutout.

Hoosic Valley 3 Cambridge 0: After a scoreless first half the Valley used goals from Andrew Wood, Isaiah Eckler and Shane Medick along with a lockdown defensive effort to post the road win over Cambridge.

Tamarac 3 Greenwich 0: Rocco DiCarlo and Nevin Wilkie connected on first half scoring strikes and Jaiden Maloney added another after the break, leading the Bengals to the home “W” over Greenwich.

Tamarac keeper Andrew Minbiole with seven saves combined with the Bengal defense for the shutout.

Greenwich goaltender Owen Keech denied 10 shots in the loss.

Stillwater 1 Saratoga Catholic 1: After regulation and two overtime sessions the Saints and Warriors played to a tie in Stillwater on a Wednesday.

Spa Catholic’s Aiden Law scored off a direct kick with 6:00 left in the first half, giving the Saints the 1-0 halftime advantage .

Late in the second half, Stillwater evened things, when Harry Rubenstein cleaned up a loose ball, and from there both defensive units took control.
