Cambridge/Salem 34 Granville 18: Cambridge/Salem trailed 12-7 after the first quarter, but used a pair of Alex Luke touchdowns in the second frame to take the lead, on their way to the well-earned road win in Granville on Saturday.
Luke scored on a 10-yard run and threw a 20-yard scoring strike to Brice Burr, giving C/S a 20-13 advantage at the break.
C/S extended their lead in the third period, on a Clifford Lewis 10-yard run for six, but Granville didn’t go quietly, responding with an Alex Warrington 1-yard TD, trimming the deficit to 27-18.
Eli Danio sealed the “W” for Cambridge/Salem late in the final period on a 40-yard touchdown romp.
With the win C/S moves to 2-2, 4-3 on the year.
Waterford 5 Berlin/New Lebanon 0: On a windy, rainy day in Mechanicville, Waterford used the wind advantage in the first half, scoring all five of their goals, in notching the victory over Berlin/New Lebanon.
Josh Catanzarita with a hat trick, and Skyler Tostes and Jarron Maguire with single tallies led the Fordian attack.
Waterford keeper Alex Roy saved five shots and combined with the Fordian defense for the clean sheet.
Mountaineer keeper Kevin Chittenden saved 10 shots in the match.
AuSable Valley 4 Stillwater 2: AuSable Valley used goals from four different players to get past the Warriors on Saturday.
Jillian Bezio, Lilley Keyser, Addie Stanley and Jenna Stanley all connected for scores in the match for AuSable Valley.
Isabella Estill, with a goal in each half, led the Warriors offensively.
