Key Stat:  The Valley defense held Crane to 10 points or less in three of the four quarters.

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley moves to the championship run in the Maple Hill Holiday Tournament, facing the tourney hosts at 4:30.  

 

Glens Falls 45  Hoosick Falls 38

Leading Scorers:  GF – Kellen Driscoll 14   Vincent Westfall 13     Panthers – Jake Sparks 15

Key Stat:  Glens Falls held the Panthers to 13 second half points,

Take Away:  Hoosick Falls held a 25-22 lead at the break, before a tough second half offensively.  

 

Tamarac 64   Utica Academy of Science 57

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Zachary Rice 30   Joey Poulin 14   James Blake 11   Academy – Machteng 16   Taylor 10

Key Stat:  Tamarac converted on 18 of 26 from the line, while Academy made 10 of 21.

Take Away:  Trailing 20-17 after the first eight minutes, Tamarac outscored Academy 39-21 over the next two quarters, to take control, on their way to the “W” over the number one ranked Class B school in the state. 

 

Girls

Tamarac 51  Lansingburgh 36

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – M. Faraj 21   S. Phillips 16      Knights – K. Genevie 17

Key Stat:  Tamarac outscored the Burgh 18-7 in the final frame.

Take Away:  Faraj and Phillips combine to outscore Lansingburgh thanks to a solid defensive effort by the Bengals.  

 

Mechanicville 47  Fonda 24

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Chloe Goverski 16   Hailie Phelps 12      Fonda – Marilyn Whitcavitch 10

Key Stat:  Mechanicville held Fonda to single numbers in every period.

Takw Away:  The Raiders post the win in the Shen/Impact Holiday Tournament and move on to a second-round matchup with Albany Academy.

 

Albany Academy 47  Cambridge 32

Leading Scorers:  Academy – Meleena Ottati 15   Saige Randolph 13     Cambridge – Stasia Epler 15

Key Stat:  Academy used a 15-7 fourth period to close things out.

Take Away:  It was a two-possession game with under four minutes to play, before Albany Academy scored the final nine points of the contest to secure the win in the Shen/Impact Holiday Tournament.  Cambridge will face Fonda today in second round action.
