Key Stat:  The Raiders led 40-37 entering the final period, and used a 16-6 fourth, to seal the win.

Take Away:  Goverski connected on a pair of threes, and converted on eight free throws, to lead the Raiders, who move to 2-0 on the year.  

 

Greenwich 69  Hoosick Falls 36

Key Stat:  The Witches outscored the Falls 40-19 over the middle two quarters.

Take Away:  Greenwich has consistently put three players in double digits scoring the ball, and that gives you a chance to win every night.  

Valley, Saints Post Wins

Saratoga Catholic 58   Mayfield 53

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Robbie Bolen 29   Mark Hmura 11        Mayfield – Petoff 15   Ruberts 10

Key Stat:  Bolen scored 20 second half points to lead the Saints.

Take Away: In a tight game throughout, Spa Catholic gained some breathing room over the middle two periods, outscoring Mayfield 24-18.

Key Stat:  Trailing by 31-30 at the break, the Valley outscored their hosts 44-30 in the second half.

Take Away: Hoosic Valley puts three players in doubles, bottoms nine triples, and was clutch from the free throw line in the final frame, converting on 10 of 14 attempts.

Key Stat:  With the Valley holding a 24-22 edge at the break, Stillwater used a 25-13 third period to build a double digit advantage. 

Take Away:  Both teams shot it well from deep with each squad connecting on 10 triples, led by the Warriors McDonough, and the Valley’s Eckler who bottomed six apiece.

Key Stat:  The Falls put three players in doubles with Tucker Thayne adding eight points in a balanced Panthers attack.

Take Away:  Trailing 17-10 midway through the second period, the Falls outscored Waterford 48-29 the rest of the way in posting the road win.

Take Away:  The Witches won every quarter, put nine players in the scoring column, and rolled to their first win of the year.

Key Stat:  A 17-2 first period gave the Panthers control early.

Take Away:  The Falls built a 37-12 halftime lead, put three players in doubles, and saw eight players score in the comfortable home “W”.

Key Stat:  Greenwich held a 15-2 advantage in made free throws.

Take Away:  Greenwich owned a 19-10 lead thru one, and after the teams played evenly over the middle two frames, the Witches closed with a 13-5 final period for the road victory.

Key Stat:  The Warriors made more free throws than Greenwich attempted, converting on 21 of 35 to Greenwich’s 9-15 from the stripe.

Take Away:  A back and forth game that saw Stillwater take a 22-13 lead after the first period, Greenwich own the middle two quarters taking a 50-44 advantage into the fourth, before Stillwater tied things in regulation and notched the win in the second extra session.

Key Stat:  The Jesters won every period, highlighted by a 21-11 advantage in the first.

Take Away:  Emma Willard rode the first period cushion to the home win, gradually pulling away behind three double figure scorers and a solid defensive effort. 

Tomahawks Top Spa Catholic

Key Stat:  Corinth held the Saints to single numbers in three of the four periods.

Take Away:  In a game where Corinth won every quarter, the Tomahawks built a 33-13 lead by halftime, and cruised to the road win over Spa Catholic.

Panthers Top Ticonderoga

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Jake Sparks 24   Connor Jones 13         Ti – Braden Perry 10

Key Stat:  The Panthers held Ticonderoga to single digits in three of the four periods.

Take Away:  The Panthers gave up 10 first quarter points and held a one point lead after eight minutes.  They allowed Ticonderoga 11 points the rest of the way, in notching the comfortable win, their second in as many nights in the Lake George Tip-Off Tournament.  With the win Hoosick Falls moves to 3-0 on the young season, and next up for the Panthers is a run with the Fordians of Waterford, Friday night in Hoosick Falls.

Key Stat:  A 23-3 first period, paved the way to the Duanesburg victory.

Take Away:  Duanesburg connected on seven threes, and put four players in doubles in day one of the Delaware Academy Tip-Off Tournament.

Take Away:  Cambridge outscored Cooperstown in each of the first three periods, and held a 41-37 advantage entering the final frame but couldn’t hold off Cooperstown over the final eight minutes, in second round action at the Delaware Academy Tip-Off Tournament.

Take Away:  The Indians steadily pulled away, leading 12-4 after one, and 25-8 at the half, led by Squires and Amanda Salisbury who scored eight points and pulled down eight boards.

Key Stat:  Tamarac shut down the Warriors attack, limiting Stillwater to single numbers in each quarter.

Take Away:  The visitors from Tamarac hung 27 points on the board in the first eight minutes and coasted to the road “W”.

Key Stat:  Hoosick Falls won every quarter, gradually taking control and pulling away in the Lake George Tip-Off Tournament.

Take Away:  Nine players scored for the Falls led by Sparks and Smith in doubles, and Tucker Thayne who scored eight points to go with nine rebounds.

Key Stat:  The Saints failed to connect on any free throws in the game with Waterford holding a 9-0 advantage from the stripe.

Take Away:  In a close run throughout, Howard Phelan drilled a three-pointer with :14 remaining, giving the Fordians a three point edge at 45-42.
