Tamarac/Hoosick Falls 40 Gloversville 0

T/HF’s Owen Hart threw for a pair of touchdowns; August Lee rushed for 146 yards and the Wildcat defense pitched a shutout in the season opening “W” for Tamarac/Hoosick Falls on Friday night.

Leading 6-0 at the quarter break, T/HF scored a pair of touchdowns in the second and never looked back.

Ryan Sparks got the Wildcats on the board with a 4-yard interception return on the first frame and Hart found P. Driscoll on scoring strikes of 7, and 34 yards in the second stanza giving T/HF a commanding 20-0 lead at the break.

Lee, Grant Glover and Glenn Milliman all added rushing touchdowns in the second half, Glover scoring on a 75-yard gallop.

The Wildcat defense held Gloversville to 45 total yards in th contest.

Johnstown 39 Mechanicville 0

Leading 7-0 after the first period, Johnstown took control with 18-second quarter points and cruised to the road win over Mechanicville in the season-opener for both squads.

Mechanicville quarterback Stephen Doty threw for 44 yards and ran for 37 more, while Caine Ray led the Raiders ground game with 51 yards on 11 carries.

Hoosic Valley 3 Argyle 1

In scoreless game at the half, Hoosic Valley found the back of the net three times after the break to capture a season-opening victory over Argyle on Friday.

The Valleys’ first tally came when Colton Schram finished a Parker Gela find for the 1-0 lead.

Moments later it was Connor Seymour ringing the bell off a Schram feed.

After an Argyle goal, the Valley wrapped the scoring in the match when Seymour connected on his second scoring strike off a nice look from Carter Simpson.

Hoosick Falls 5 Mechanicville 4

Mechanicville’s Matthew Salvadore with an even par round of 34 claimed medalist honors, but the Falls secured the “W” in a tight match at the Hoosick Falls Country Club on Friday.

Top scores for Hoosick Falls included Jack Shea 42, Spencer Tate and Zach Houghton with 43’s, Colton Brust 44, Quinn Haynes 47 and Memphis Hathaway 58 and Caleen Aubin with a round of 60.

Mechanicville scores included Kolton Rinaldi, AJ Messercola and John Cady with rounds of 45, Vinny Taylor 46, and Brody Landy who carded around of 49.

Stillwater 8 Waterford 1

Daniel DeGrasse with the low round of 38 led Stillwater to the victory in a match at Fairways of Halfmoon on Friday.

Other Stillwater scores were Tye Morris 42, Nick Rose 47 and Vincent Festa with a round of 50

Scores for Waterford included Dylan Day 43, Landon Pitcher 45, and Bradley O’Connor with a round of 46.

With the win Stillwater moves to 4-0 on the year while Waterford see’s it’s mark level at 2-2.
