Mechanicville 8 Waterford 0: The Red Raiders capped their undefeated season with yet one more dominating performance in posting an 8-0 “W” to earn the Wasaren League championship in Mechanicville on Saturday afternoon.

Mechanicville built a 5-0 advantage by halftime and coasted to their fifteenth victory in as many outings.

Andrew Kraszewski and Colin McNutt with two goals each led the scoring assault, with TJ Bisaillon, Tom Hickey, Jordan Nolan and Tyler Tesoriero all adding single tallies for the Raiders.

Glenn Prarie saved five shots for Mechanicville who notched their 11th shutout of the season, a year in which the Raiders outscored their opponents 130-5 and notched their fourth straight Wasaren championship.

Football

Schuylerville 34 Hoosick Falls/Tamarac 15: Owen Sherman ran and passed for touchdowns, leading Schuylerville to a 34-15 victory over Hoosick Falls/Tamarac in the Section II Class C Football Championship.

Jack Dwyer and Sam McGarrahan added rushing scores for the Black Horses who finish the year with a perfect 7-0 slate.

HF/Tam scored all of their points in the final frame on a 60- yard touchdown pass from Michael Dagostino to Dylan Baker and a 75 yard kickoff return by Josh Colgrove.

Hoosick Falls /Tamarac finishes the season with an excellent 6-1 mark.

Warrensburg 16 Cambridge 7: Warrensburg claimed it’s first victory of the season, grinding out the narrow decision over Cambridge on Saturday in Stillwater.

The Burghers held a 8-0 halftime lead on a Zach Carpenter to Tanner Dunkley 26-yard scoring strike in the first quarter.

After a scoreless second frame, Cambridge opened the third with a scoring drive capped by a Doug Pennington one-yard run trimming the lead to 8-7.

Warrensburg responded with a 73 yard drive that Carpenter finished with a two-yard touchdown tote, and the Burghers defense closed the door the rest of the way to seal the win.

Boys Soccer, Raiders, Fordians Advance to Wasaren Finals

Mechanicville and Waterford earned semifinal wins on Friday and will face off Saturday afternoon in Mechanicville in the Wasaren League Boys Soccer Championship.

Mechanicville 14 Cambridge 0: The Raiders connected for goals eight times before the break and cruised to the one-sided decision over Cambridge in their semifinal tilt.

Tyler Tesoriero and Justin Manion led the scoring parade with three goals each, Andrew Kraszewski and Jordan Nolin both found the range twice and Colin McNutt, Wyqie Aguda, TJ Bisallion, and Ryan Grimmick all added single scoring strikes as the Raiders extended their undefeated mark to 14-0.

Mechanicville keepers Glenn Prarie and Dylan Raucci combined with the Red Raider “D” for the shutout, Mechanicville’s tenth in fourteen outings this year

Waterford 2 Greenwich 1: Joshua Cantanzarita with a first half tally and Ty Plummley’s second half strike was just enough for the Fordians to slip past Greenwich in their matchup on Friday.

Waterford keeper Alex Roy saved 10 shots in the match, beaten just once by Josh Poovey who found the back of the net in the second half for the Witches.

The Fordians improve to 9-3-2 with the win and will look to upset the undefeated Red Raiders of Mechanicville on Saturday in the title match with a 12:30 kickoff scheduled.

Girls Soccer

Cambridge 3 Hoosick Falls 1: Cambridge built a 2-0 halftime advantage and rode the cushion the victory over the Panthers of Hoosick Falls on Monday.

Addison Gates with a pair of goals and Alexciyah Woodworth with a single strike paced the the Indians offensively.

Sydney Kasulinous with scored for the Panthers with a second half tally.

Greenwich 5 Emma Willard 0: Faith Ingber scored all five Greenwich goals to pace the Witches to the shutout over Emma Willard.

Ingber connected for a pair of strikes before halftime and added three goals to complete a dominant afternoon.

Faith Hewitt saved two shots to earn the clean sheet for the Witches.

Stillwater 2 Tamarac 1: After a scoreless first half Tamarac grabbed the lead when Abby Buckley found the back of the net at the 73:00 mark, but a pair of Elliot Patenaude tallies gave the Warriors the come-from-behind victory in Clum’s Corners on Monday.

Wasaren Soccer; Raider Boys Move to 11-0

Mechanicville 8 Tamarac 0: The Raiders used a pair of four goal halves to cruise past the Bengals on Thursday night, under the lights in Mechanicville.

Andrew Krasweski led the assault for Mechanicville (11-0), connecting for a hat trick, while Raider teammates Nick Amedeo, Ryan Grimmick, TJ Bisaillon, Justin Mannion, and Jordan Nolin all added single tallies.

Glenn Prarie saved six shots and combined with Raider defenders Tom Hickey, Tyler Eiseman, Dakota Bowie, Fen Egan, Will Woods and Nick Amedeo for Mechanicville’s ninth shutout in eleven outings.

Waterford 5 Emma Willard 3: Addison Galuski rang the bell with three goals and Natalie Rich added a pair in the Fordians win over Emma Willard on Thursday.

Emma Reed with a hat trick paced the Emma Willard attack.

Greenwich 7 Spa Catholic 0: The Witches built a 6-0 first half advantage and coasted to the shutout “W” over Saratoga Catholic in Greenwich on Thursday.

Faith Ingber and Molly Brophy led the charge with two goals each, while Tess Merrill, Cate Abate and Liz Marci connected with single scoring strikes.

Greenwich keeper Faith Hewitt and the Witches defense combined for the clean sheet.

Tamarac 3 Mechanicville 1: Bre Eversten scored a goal in each half, to lead the Bengals past the Red Raiders at Clum’s Corners on Thursday.

Eversten and teammate Abby Buckley sandwiched first half tallies around a Raider score by Patty Snyder at the 16:00 mark of the first.

The Tamarac defense closed the door on Mechanicville after the break to earn the home “W”.

Between the posts Jenna Hunt saved 12 and Syrita Faraj one for Tamarac, while Mechanicville keeper Dani Rubino turned back 11 shots for the Raiders.

Boys Soccer

Mechanicville 4 Greenwich 0: Andrew Kraszewski with two goals and Wyqie Aguda and TJ Bisaillon with single tallies led the Red Raiders to the shutout victory over Greenwich.

Raider keeper Glenn Prarie saved eight and combined with the Mechanicville “D” to post their eighth shutout in ten, undefeated outings for the Raiders.

Owen Keech turned back 25 shots between the posts for Greenwich.

Girls Soccer

Mechanicville 2 Waterford 1: Red Raiders Megan DiSiena and Maddie Hopeck both rang the bell, connecting for goals as Mechanicville slipped past the Fordians of Waterford on Tuesday.

Mackenzie Koniszewski with a second half tally provided the Waterford offense.

Raider keeper Dani Rubino saved 10 shots, while Maddy Atwood denied 12 shots for Waterford.

Mechanicville 5 Hoosic Valley 0: Anthony Fiacco fired the low round of 42 in leading the Raiders to the sweep of Hoosic Valley on Monday.

Joining Fiacco in the winner’s circle for Mechanicville were Joey Manzer, Devin Garland, RJ Roberts and Dylan Olivia who all posted individual match wins.

Greenwich 4 Mechanicville 1: Jake Owens carded the low round of 37, pacing the Witches to the comfortable win over Mechanicville on Tuesday.

Tyler Ziehm, Brad Brophy and Patrick McFee all earned points for the Witches, while the Raider’s Jack Salvadore won his match to prevent the shutout.

Mechanicville Rolls Over Berlin/New Lebanon

The Mechanicville boys soccer team headed into Thursday afternoon’s match with Berlin/New Lebanon, a perfect 7-0 on the season. In the seven wins the Raiders have averaged over nine goals per contest while defensively pitching five shutouts with just two goals allowed overall.

Thursday proved to be more of the same with Mechanicville scoring five times before the break, on their way to a 9-0 victory over the Mountaineers in New Lebanon.

Ryan Grimmick led the Red Raider scoring parade with a hat trick, with Wyqie Aguda adding a pair of goals, while Andrew Krazsewski, Colin McNutt, Nick Amodeo and T.J. Bisaillon all found the range with single scoring strikes.

Mechanicville keepers Glenn Prarie and Dylan Raucci combined for eight saves to earn, along with the Raider “D”, yet another shutout.

Mechanicville will next put it’s undefeated record on the line this Monday when they’ll play host to the Witches of Greenwich.

Wasaren Golf

Mechanicville 3 Cambridge 2: Anthony Fiacco, Devin Garland and Jack Salvadore all posts wins in their flights, leading the Red Raiders past Cambridge on Wednesday.

Fiacco fired the low round on the day, carding a 43 to take home medalist honors.

Saratoga Catholic 5 Waterford 0: Charlie Greiner’s round of 37 led the way for the Saints shutout over Waterford in a match played at Saratoga Spa Park on Wednesday.

Will Fizer, Cam Khoury, Mark Hmura and Pat Penna all joined Greiner in the winner’s circle completing the sweep and moving Spa Catholic to 3-0 on the season.

Stillwater 4 1/2 Tamarac 1/2: In a match played at Saratoga Lake Golf Course on Wednesday Carter Wicheins earned medalist honors with a round of 45, pacing the Warriors to the win over Tamarac.

Joey Pickett, Nick Halse and Logan Pickett all picked up points with individual “W’s”, while in flight three, Tamarac’s Nevin Wilkie and Stillwater’s Harry Rubenstein tied and split the point.
