Class C Girls Soccer; Stillwater Advances, Panthers Fall

Stillwater 5 Lake George 1: Brooke Pickett found the net three times and Teya Staie added a pair of goals as the Warriors posted the semifinal victory over Lake George and advance to the Section II Class C finals.

Greenwich, Cambridge Advance to Class D Super Bowl

Was there ever a doubt? Starting in the preseason and continuing through the last weekend in October the prevailing theme in Section II Class D football was either Greenwich or Cambridge would wear the crown on the first Saturday in November.

Sectional Friday; Warriors Advance to Super Bowl

The young and talented Stillwater Warriors will be making their first ever appearance in a Section II title game, courtesy of their 50-30 victory over Hoosick Falls in a Class C semifinal Friday night in Stillwater.

Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week

Congratulations to Mechanicville’s Mackenzie Bowie on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.
On Saturday Mackenzie scored five goals in a 6-1 sectional quarterfinal win over Catskill. It was the second five goal effort this season for the senior Bowie who has scored 37 goals with 13 assists on the year for the 18-0-1 Red Raider squad.

Stillwater 4 Chatham 0: Teya Staie, Keelyn Peacock, Devon Wagner and Brooke Pickett all scored for Stillwater as the Warriors turned back Chatham in Class C’s opening round.
Holding a 1-0 advantage at halftime Stillwater scored three times after the break to post the win and advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday where they’ll host Bolton-Warrensburg. Continue reading

Sectional quarterfinals in Class C highlighted a football Friday as four Wasaren squads started what they hoped would be a long second season run.
