Stillwater Meets Holy Trinity in Class C Super Bowl

With Section II’s Super Bowl weekend upon us the Class C matchup between the Holy Trinity Pride and the Stillwater Warriors is everything you hope for in a championship game.

Both teams come in with identical 8-1 marks, they score in bunches and entering Friday night’s 7 p.m. kickoff in Lansingburgh, both are playing their best football of the season. Continue reading

Class C Girls Soccer; Stillwater Advances, Panthers Fall

Stillwater 5  Lake George 1:  Brooke Pickett found the net three times and Teya Staie added a pair of goals as the Warriors posted the semifinal victory over Lake George and advance to the Section II Class C finals.

With the win Stillwater improves to 17-2 on the year and will face Schoharie in the championship match this week.   Continue reading

Sectional Friday; Warriors Advance to Super Bowl

The young and talented Stillwater Warriors will be making their first ever appearance in a Section II title game, courtesy of their 50-30 victory over Hoosick Falls in a Class C semifinal Friday night in Stillwater.

The Warriors moved the ball to the tune of 450 yards of total offense with a trio of sophomores leading the way. Continue reading

Girls Class C

Stillwater 4  Chatham 0:  Teya Staie, Keelyn Peacock, Devon Wagner and Brooke Pickett all scored for Stillwater as the Warriors turned back Chatham in Class C’s opening round.

Holding a 1-0 advantage at halftime Stillwater scored three times after the break to post the win and advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday where they’ll host Bolton-Warrensburg. Continue reading

Friday Night Football; Warriors, Panthers Advance, Raiders Fall

Sectional quarterfinals in Class C highlighted a football Friday as four Wasaren squads started what they hoped would be a long second season run.  Stillwater and Hoosick Falls both took step one in that journey posting convincing “W’s”, while the title quest ended for the Mechanicville Red Raiders and the Bengals of Tamarac. Mechanicville 6  Ichabod Crane 0:  The Red Raiders scored three goals before the break to take control early in their shutout victory over Ichabod Crane.

Jada Brown with a goal and two assists led the Raider attack that saw six different players ring the bell.  Red Raider keeper Savannah Bowie earned the shutout with 8 saves for Mechanicville. Continue reading
