Horde Split’s With Bengals, Valley Wins Again

Tuesday afternoon saw Granville and Tamarac square off in softball and baseball contests, while Hoosic Valley and Hoosick Falls softball teams played non league affairs.  Here’s a look at how things played out.

Baseball

Granville 6  Tamarac 2

Winning Pitcher: Bailey Daigle  four-hit complete game

Leading Hitters: Horde – Trace Bourn 2-4, 2 RBI’s,  Matt Fuller 1-2, 2 RBI’s      Bengals – Dan Mulligan 2-3

Key Stat: A four run fourth gave the Horde control and their second win of the season.

 

Hoosick Falls 11 Mechanicville 6

Winning Pitcher: Noah Conety

Leading Hitters: Falls – Wyatt Whitman 2 1b’s, 3b, 2 RBI’s, Noah Conety 1b, 3b, 3 RBI’s Ryan Sanders 1b, 2b, 3 RBI’s   Raiders – Alec Simmons 1b, 2b

Key Stat: A  four run fourth gave the Falls an 8-5 cushion, and a three spot in the sixth put this one away for the Panthers.

 

Softball

Hoosic Valley 9  Lake George 0

Winning Pitcher: Camille Coyne one-hitter, 18 K’s

Leading Hitters: Valley – Cierra Casale 3-4

Key Stat: Coyne dominated from the circle recording 18 of the 21 outs on strikes against a Lake George team that was 5-1 coming in.

 

Waconah 2  Hoosick Falls 1

Leading Hitters: Waconah – Angie Borowsky 2-3   Falls – Mackenzie Ellis 2-3, 2b

Key Stat: Waconah scored single runs in the sixth and seventh frames to secure the come-from-behind victory.
