Wasaren Round Up

Thursday  Baseball

Greenwich 4  Tamarac 3

Winning Pitcher: John Miller

Leading Hitters: Lukas Whitehouse 2-4, game tying RBI, George Ostrowski 2-3, walk-off sac fly

Key Stat: The Witches score four times in the final frame to pull out the win, making head coach Duke Beck the winningest baseball coach all time in the Wasaren passing Schulerville’s Hal Foster.

 

Granville 15  Stillwater 1

Winning Pitcher: Ethan Patch  9 K’s

Leading Hitters: Horde – Trace Bourn 4-4, 2b, Zak Vanderminden 3-4, 2b,  Ethan Patch 2-4, 2b   Warriors – Luke Richardson 2-4, 2b

Key Stat: Granville ripped 15 hits in this easy win, and improve to 4-3 in league play.

Hoosic Valley 2  Stillwater 0

Winning Pitcher: Jake Saucy 10 K’s

Leading Hitters: Valley – Kolbie Sawyer go-ahead RBI 1b, Tod Cox 2b

Hoosic Valley 8  Stillwater 6

Winning Pitcher: Kolbie Snyder

Leading Hitters: Alex Carlo two-run 2b, Joe Duncan 2b RBI

Key Stat: The Valley sweeps Stillwater to stay perfect at 6-0 in Wasaren play.

 

Thursday Softball

Mechanicville 8  Hoosick Falls 2

Winning Pitcher: Emily Ford  9 K’s

Leading Hitters: Raiders – Madison Harrington 2b, 2 RBI’s,  Devon Scott 3 singles RBI,  Amanda Kenyon 2b, RBI

 

Greenwich 15  Tamarac 0

Winning Pitcher: Rachel Hall

Leading Hitters: Witches – Courtney Fraher HR, 2 1b’s, 4 RBI’s,  Gabby VanDeWater 2 2b’s, 3 RBI’s      Bengals – Kylie Galipeau 1b,

Key Stat: Greenwich pounded 18 hits in a shortened game to remain perfect at 6-0 in league play.

 

Granville 11  Stillwater8

Winning Pitcher: Bri Greenough

Leading Hitters: Horde – Olivia Roberts 3-5,  Gabby Hunt 3-5,  Bri Greenough 3-5,  Alexis Carroll 3-5     Warriors – Sara Brennan 3-4,  Morgan LeClaire 2-4,  Danika Svendsen 2-4,  Taylor Lescault 2-4

Key Stat: In a game that was tied at 8 after three innings of play, Granville plated one in the fourth, and two in the sixth, to gain their first league win on the year.

 

Friday Baseball

Hoosick Falls 10  Hoosic Valley 9   8 innings

Winning Pitcher: Andrew Stevens

Leading Hitters : Falls – Connor McCart game-winning walk off single,  Wyatt Whitman 3 singles , 3 RBI’s     Valley – Dan Joslin 2 1b’s, 2b

Key Stat: The Valley scored four times in the seventh to send this one into extra frames, before McCart’s walk-off ended the contest in dramatic fashion.  Hoosick Falls improves to 5-2 in league play, while the Valley, who absorbs their first loss is 6-1.

 

Cambridge 8  Stillwater 4

Winning Pitcher: Andy Romack

Leading Hitters: Indians – Kyle Spiezio 2-run single,  Nate Woodworth 2-run single,  Jake Harrington 2 1b’s, RBI     Warriors – Luke Richarson 2 1b’s,   Tyler Reyome 2 1b’s

Key Stat: Cambridge scored three in the first and led 7-1 after three innings on the way to their first Wasaren victory this year.

 

Softball

Greenwich 7  Mechanicville 4

Winning Pitcher: Rachel Hall

Leading Hitters: Witches – Sabrina Whitehouse 2 HR’s,  Rachell Hall 1b, 3b 3 RBI’s   Raiders – Devon Scott 1b, 2b, RBI

Key Stat: Greenwich led 7-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth, and held on for the “W”.

 

Cambridge 18  Stillwater 7

Winning Pitcher: Gabbie Woods

Leading Hitters: Indians – Mattie Clifton 3-4, 2b, 2 RBI’s,  Miranda Seacord 2 2b’s, 2 RBI’s,  Victoria Dupuis 2b, 3 RBI’s

Key Stat: The Indians trailed 4-1 after three, but hung 17 runs on the board over the final four frames to notch the victory, improving to 6-1 in the Wasaren.
