In 2018 the Panthers of Hoosick Falls put together yet another winning season in their long history of football success. The Falls went 4-1 in the Class C North and 7-2 overall and will look to do more of the same this year.
Longtime head coach Ron Jones highlighted four players as key returning starters for this year’s edition of Hoosick Falls. Seniors Dmitri Rose OT/LB, Max Kipp QB/LB, Liam McGarvin HB/LB and junior Josh Colegrove will all provide two-way leadership for the Panthers this fall.
When Jones was asked what he’s liked about the preseason he said, ” Our young players are learning quickly.”
Asked about his team’s identity for the upcoming season the Falls mentor responded, “We will hustle to the ball.”
Jones offered that, ” Experienced players must become leaders and make the young players around them better”, as being important to ensure a successful football season.
The Panthers will look to put points on the board running the spread offense, and will show an odd front to opponents on the defensive side of the ball.
Coach Jones wasted little time speculating on Class C contenders saying he was, “Only concentrating on Hoosick Falls”, and “the contenders will shake themselves out.”
More times than not over the years the Panthers have managed to shake themselves into contention and when this October rolls around it would surprise no one to see the Falls in contention yet again.
