A full slate of soccer action for the Wasaren boys highlighted by a battle of unbeaten squads with Mechanicville and Tamarac squaring off.

Mechanicville 3  Tamarac 2:  Mechanicville’s Jake Cavert buried the game-winner from 25 yards out with 8:00 left in regulation leading the Red Raiders to the win.

Tamarac found the net first in the match on a Max Ali break away goal, but minutes later Jeff Luce tied things for the Raiders off a Kevin Charette cross.

Mechanicville took the lead on a Tamarac own goal, but Alex Bassey knotted things at 2-2 with a strike before the break leading to the difference-maker by Cavert late in the second half.

Berlin 1  Cambridge 0:  In a defensive battle played in Berlin a first half goal by Cody Hunt was all the Mountaineers needed as they turned back the Indians of Cambridge.

Berlin keeper Malek Plouffe saved 17 shots for the shutout and Parker Robertson saved 14 for Cambridge.

Waterford 3  Hoosic Valley 0:  Jason Cordts, Tyler Galarneau and Hunter Guertin all found the back of the net in the Fordians shutout of Hoosic Valley.

Guertin added a pair of assists and keeper Bobby Valigorsky turned away four shots to earn the shutout for Waterford.

Greenwich 9  Hoosick Falls 0:  Greenwich scored seven times after intermission in cruising to the win over the Panthers.

Charlie Gartner scored three goals with Liam Kelleher and Christian O’Brien adding a pair of scores each to lead the Witches.

Sam Whiting made three saves for Greenwich in the shutout.

Stillwater 2  Saratoga Catholic 0: After a scoreless first half the Warriors tallied on a pair of headers after the break to secure the victory over the Saints.

Scott Travis finished off a Jake Zdonick cross to get Stillwater on the board and minutes later Cooper Monast scored off a feed from Grant Baker.

Tim Buchal and the Stillwater defense earned the shutout with Buchal saving two shots in the match.

Golf

Hoosick Falls 4 1/2  Mechanicville 1/2:  Ryan Bloomer fired a 43 to earn medalist honors and lead the Panthers to the win over Mechanicville.

Miles Smith, Brady Hathaway and Alison Hathaway all posted individual wins for the Falls, while in flight two Mechanicville’s Jake Popiel and Hoosick Falls’s Matt Smith shared the point.
