Congratulations to Mechanicville baseball player Jacob Popiel on being named Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.
On Monday against Waterford, Popiel threw a no-hitter leading the Red Raiders to an 8-0 decision over the Fordians.
The Mechanicville right-hander struck out 13 and allowed three walks in pitching his first career gem.
Congratulations to Jacob, our first Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week for the spring season.
