Cambridge 63 Helderberg Valley 3: Cambridge scored six touchdowns in the first 12 minutes of play in rolling over Helderberg Valley.
Brenden Holcomb was on the receiving end of three touchdown passes from Zack Rowland covering 52, 37 and 12 yards, and Jonas Butz and Colton Dean added rushing scores for Cambridge, all coming in the first period. Greenwich’s Reed Boduch advanced to the second round of play after firing an 80 on Tuesday in the opening round of the Section II State Golf Qualifier at Orchard Creek Golf Club.
The Greenwich junior tied for 12th place out of the 20 golfers that advanced after Tuesday’s round.
The top 11 golfers after Thursday’s second round will secure a spot on the Section II team that will compete in the State Boys Golf Championship in June at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca.

Greenwich 42 Whitehall 3: After a 28-yard field goal from Whitehall’s Nick Kennedy trimmed the Greenwich lead to 7-3 early in the second period, Witches QB Cole Burgess took over.
