The remaining two Wasaren softball squads took the field on Tuesday in Section II semifinals contests and the league teams came away with a split. Valley Moves On, Madigan Delivers Game-Winner

On an afternoon where Hoosic Valley had missed out on some scoring chances the Indians Ashley Madigan wasn’t going to let that happen again. Madigan delivered a clutch single in the bottom of the seventh scoring Katrina Dean with the game winner, as Hoosic Valley prevailed 4-3 over Chatham in Class B quarterfinal softball action. Witches Earn Title Behind Whitehouse’s Gem
The Greenwich baseball team needed a win on Thursday in Granville to clinch the Wasaren title and Lukas Whitehouse made it happen. The senior pitcher threw a no-hitter while striking out nine as Greenwich posted an 11-0 victory to claim the league crown with a 13-1 mark.
On the softball side of things Greenwich and Hoosic Valley were both victorious and will share the Wasaren title with identical 12-2 records. Continue reading
