Both games had big implications in the league title chase, and both contests were overtime decisions, with the Valley putting away the Bengals 55-46 in OT to stay just one game behind front running Hoosick Falls in the race for the Wasaren crown. Fittingly Friday night’s game between the visiting Panthers of Hoosick Falls, and their hosts, the Warriors of Stillwater, needed an extra session to determine it’s outcome. The two squads needed every second of regulation and a four minute overtime, and when the final horn sounded Hoosick Falls came away with the well-earned 59-57 victory, handing the Warriors their first league loss of the season. The Fighting Saints earned a win over Great Bay CC on Jan. 16 with a final score of 81-66. CSJ played a great team game, sharing the ball and working together to ensure the 15 point victory. The College of St. Joseph women’s basketball team delivered a knockout punch to the Great Bay Herons on Jan. 16, earning a victory with a final score of 112-33. This was the Lady Saints 10th straight win, pushing them to 12-1 overall and 6-0 in the YSCC.
